Australians are friendly, laid-back, and easy-going. Australia is a multicultural society, reflected in the country’s food, art, sport, film, fashion, and music. Australians enjoy a high standard of living and are free to live wherever they like and follow whichever religion and occupation they choose. 

Australians love sports and are passionate about their teams. They are also environmentally conscious and take pride in caring for the natural environment. We have a strong sense of community, and Australians work together to help those in need. 

Australians believe in everyone getting a ‘Fair Go.’ 

Australia is a nation of immigrants from all over the world, and we welcome people from all cultures.

Names: We generally call each other by our first names, but titles such as Mr., Mrs, and Miss, followed by the surname, are usually used in business and formal situations.

Clothing: The weather can be varied in different places in Australia because it is a vast country. Australians generally like practical, informal, and casual western clothing. – T-shirts, shorts, trousers, skirts, and practical shoes. Although, we may suit up for a job interview! 

Gender Equality: In Australia, specific gender equality laws ensure that everyone is treated fairly. It allows all genders to enjoy the same rights, opportunities, responsibilities, and protections. 

Swimming at the Beach: Always swim between the red and yellow flags at the beach where lifeguards can see you.

Sun Protection: Australia experiences some of the highest levels of UV radiation in the world due to its proximity to the equator and the beautiful clear, blue skies. It is essential to protect your skin all year round with sunscreen SPF30 and appropriate clothing, even when it is cloudy.

Native Animals: Australia is home to unique flora and fauna. Avoid touching or disturbing native animals in their natural habitat.

Smoking: Smoking and using e-cigarettes are banned in all enclosed public areas and specific outdoor public spaces.
