Transport in your pocket

Transport in your pocket

Myki is your ticket to ride on Melbourne’s buses, trains, and trams. Myki makes it easy to get around the city – top up your Myki card and touch it on and off as you travel. Myki is also reusable, so you can keep using it repeatedly. And if you ever lose your Myki, you can get a replacement card from any Myki retail outlet. So why not ditch the paper tickets and go Myki? It’s the smart way to travel in Melbourne.

Public transport in Melbourne has progressed over the years. Many new routes, train lines, stations, trains, buses, and trams are being regularly introduced.

To avail of the transport, you need to purchase Myki. Myki is a reloadable credit card-sized contactless smart card ticketing system used for electronic payment of fares on most public transport services in Melbourne and regional Victoria, Australia. Myki replaced the Metcard ticketing system and became fully operational at the end of 2012.

Mobile Myki is a virtual Myki card on an Android phone. You can use it to pay for single fares, Myki Money, and Myki Pass on Melbourne’s public transport network.

How to get Myki: You can buy Myki from over 800 retail outlets, including all 7-Eleven stores, Myki machines at all metropolitan train stations and some tram stops or online.
